Tim Ferriss has 5-bullet Friday. This is my list of what I’m enjoying or pondering - Weekly Chatter.
What I’m excited about
Robert Kubica tested F1 car again six years after rally crash. I am a huge fan of his since 2006, and I am following all of his endeavors. Is there a chance to see Robert in F1 championship again? Nothing is confirmed yet, but this would be an amazing comeback story. For now, I’ve already spent hours watching Kubica’s great maneuvers over and over again.
What I’m reading
Lean Startup by Eric Ries. This book contains an enormous amount of knowledge on building Startups and Minimum Viable Products. I read the book before, but now it’s a good opportunity to study it once again. Why? In October I’ll be talking at Agile Tour Vilnius about Prototyping, as a method to reduce risks associated with new tools and technologies. Lean Startup is a great foundation for my talk.
What I’m listening to
I’d love to write here a song title, but I didn’t listen to any music last week… Instead, I listened to Tim Ferriss’ podcast and here are the three takeaways. David Blane - The Magic, Misdirection, and Mindset of David Blaine
- Never look at anything really as a success. Always look at it as a work in progress.
Vince Vaughn - How to Fear Less
- Focus on what you can control, leave what you can’t
Phil Keoghan - The Magic of Bucket Lists and Amazing Races
- Cultivate optimism … There is an optimist and a pessimist, both with 10,000 hours of experience each. Who do you hang out with?
What I am doing besides my regular activities
I spend 6 hours reading and comparing car insurance policies. I felt like an amateur because this was the first time I read it thoroughly, and I was unaware of many exceptions, e.g. in some cases if there is a damage only to the tires, no car exterior scratches, insurance is not covering it. Luckily, nothing had happened before, and I hope I won’t need an insurance payout in the future. Remember to allocate time to read all contracts before signing!
